Job summary

Join SUEZ as an Assistant Site Manager for our Anaerobic Digestion facility in Ashington, Northumberland. You will report to the Senior Site Manager and support safe, efficient operations across the site, coordinating with teams, customers and contractors to deliver strong environmental and commercial performance.

The role requires IOSH Managing Safely (essential) with NEBOSH advantageous, and knowledge of COTC/WAMITAB.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working within an Anaerobic Digestion facility, waste processing facility, manufacturing environment or other operational setting.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential); NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of COTC/WAMITAB requirements; a COTC in Anaerobic Digestion is highly desirable with training available.
  • Strong commercial awareness, numerical skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring health, safety, environmental and contractual compliance.
  • Planning and coordinating operational activities while helping to manage team performance and development.
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise revenue, improve efficiencies and control costs.
  • Managing plant, machinery and equipment to ensure safe operation, maintenance and regulatory compliance.
  • Driving continuous improvement and best practice to enhance customer service, safety, sustainability and operational performance.

Assistant Site Manager

SUEZ is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager to join our new Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Facility in Ashington, Northumberland. Our facility plays a key role in diverting waste from landfill, generating renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting a circular economy.

Salary: £32,937 - £38,636

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you'll support the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the Anaerobic Digestion Facility. You'll work closely with operational teams, customers and contractors to help deliver outstanding environmental, safety and commercial performance.

The ideal candidate will show initiative, and be able to work as part of a dynamic team. For this role you will need:



  • Experience of working within an Anaerobic Digestion facility, waste processing facility, manufacturing environment or other operational setting.

  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential); NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.

  • Knowledge of COTC/WAMITAB requirements. A COTC in Anaerobic Digestion is highly desirable; however, training can be provided where required.

  • Strong commercial awareness, numerical skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, build positive relationships and contribute to continuous improvement.
