Wenzel’s the Bakers in Bourne End is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead, train and support a busy retail team, while preparing fresh products and delivering excellent customer service.

You will work closely with the Shop Manager to drive sales, manage shifts, maintain food hygiene standards and ensure high quality standards across all daily operations. The role offers training and progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in food service or retail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the shop team to meet schedules and sales targets.
• Greet customers and provide excellent service.
• Receive and check daily deliveries and manage stock.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, and product quality standards.
• Open/close the shop and run shifts when the manager is absent.
• Support training and onboarding of staff.
