Big C is recruiting an Assistant Shop Manager for our Dereham shop. The role is 21 hours per week across 3 days, including weekends and bank holidays as required, with a permanent contract.

You will lead a busy team, drive retail sales, maximise donations, and ensure a welcoming experience for customers while supporting Shop Manager and volunteers.

• Taking the lead in the day-to-day running of the shop when deputising for the Shop Manager.
• Maximising the value of donated items by overseeing sorting, displays, and stock rotation.
• Supporting the Shop Manager to meet income targets and maintain high retail standards through leadership.
• Assisting with recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing support of staff and volunteers.
• Encouraging local donations to keep the shop well-stocked with quality items.
• Coordinating furniture collections and deliveries to ensure a smooth customer experience.

Salary: £14,205 to £14,460 per annum (£23,675 to £24,100 full time equivalent)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Big CDereham Shop

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your retail skills to make a difference as part of the Big C family and the Dereham community.

You’ll help drive retail sales and maximise profit while ensuring every customer receives a warm and welcoming experience. Working alongside the Shop Manager, you’ll support and inspire a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, helping to make the most of every donation and keeping the shop running smoothly and successfully.

As Assistant Shop Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the shop, helping to maximise income, deliver excellent customer service, and create a positive environment for customers, volunteers, and colleagues alike.
