The Avenues Trust Group is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to join our Rainham service in Kent. The role involves supporting the Service Manager, guiding a dedicated team, and ensuring safe, person-centred support for a male adult with learning disabilities. Driving licence is required and shifts include mornings and evenings.

Assistant Service Manager - Rainham

£29,012 per annum pro rata + £1800 complexity payment + benefits

Full Time 39 hours per week / Full UK driving licence required

We are seeking an Assistant Service Manager to work with a unique service in the heart of Rainham, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to make a tangible impact on a person’s life, supporting a good team to provide good support.

Our team are supporting a male adult with learning disabilities, who enjoys a variety of activities at home and in the community, including swimming, walking, bowling, meals out and drinks at the local pub and much more. He works closely with his team to engage in as much of his daily life as possible. He can find some things a challenge, which is sometimes reflected in his behaviour, and also has PICA so needs his environment to reflect his safety needs.

Our ideal Assistant Service Manager looks like this:

• Work with your Service Manager to manage and lead a successful and positive team.
• Understands the balance between keeping our people safe and positive risk taking.
• Have a good understanding of the social care sector and how these benefits and impacts the people we support.
• Stay up to date with policies and procedures to carry out and maintain safe and best practices.
• Support the Service Manager to recruit new employees and develop and manage your staff team in a fair and consistent manner.
• Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a positive culture of continuous improvement.
• Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
• To be flexible and be able to work shifts required: bank holidays, 7am - 2:30pm and 2pm - 9:30pm, no night shifts required. These hours may occasionally need to be extended to provide 1-1 support and guidance to Support Staff on duty as required and this may involve working past 21.30 to do night staff supervision.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence required
