Overview

Assistant Service Manager. Full time 39 hours a week, with about 9.75 hours admin per week and the remaining hours dedicated to support. Monday – Sunday. Shift times between 08:00 and 22:00. £27,969 per annum pro rata.

Avenues is a community where people smile, laugh, grow and achieve great things. We are looking for a full time (39 hours) Assistant Service Manager to join the team within 3 of our services in Highley & Ludlow area, Shropshire.

Service locations
  • Highley – Individuals who live in their own homes, with autism and a learning disability. Require full support with daily living. They enjoy activities such as fishing, walks, bowling, computer games, and watching movies.
  • Ludlow – Acquired brain injury and some mobility impairments. Need verbal prompts to retain skills, help where needed, assist with tasks such as charging a mobility scooter battery, and support to attend activities and shopping.
Role requirements

This role requires the right candidate to have a Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Service Manager to build and lead a positive team, with a focus on safety and positive risk taking.
  • Understand the social care sector and how it benefits and impacts the people we support.
  • Support the team to stay up to date with policies and procedures to maintain safe and best practices.
  • Support the Service Manager to recruit new employees and develop and manage the staff team in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Work with the Service Manager to reinforce a positive culture of continuous improvement.
  • Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
