Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Assistant Service Manager to support Women’s and Neonatal Services at North Middlesex University Hospital. You will deputise for the Service Manager, lead administrative teams and collaborate with Clinical Leads and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe, patient-centered care and high service

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Assistant Service Manager to join Women's and Neonatal Services at North Middlesex University Hospital. This role provides an opportunity to work at the heart of a busy and continually evolving service supporting Obstetrics, Maternity and Neonatal care. The post holder will work closely with the Service Manager, Clinical Leads, Matrons and multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of high-quality services for women, babies and their families.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting service performance, patient access, workforce management and the effective delivery of administrative and operational functions across the department. They will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem-solving, whilst building positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

This position is suited to an experienced NHS manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing day-to-day service demands with the need to support longer-term service objectives. The ability to remain organised, resilient and adaptable, whilst maintaining a focus on patient experience and service quality, is essential.

The post holder will work closely with the Service Manager and Clinical Leads and will be responsible for supporting the operational management and delivery of Women's and Neonatal Services, including Obstetrics, Maternity and Neonatal services at North Middlesex University Hospital. The role will deputise for the Service Manager as required and provide day-to-day leadership to administrative and operational teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred services.

The post holder will be expected to exercise initiative, prioritise conflicting work demands and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, internal and external stakeholders to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care and an excellent patient experience. This requires the ability to achieve objectives through influence, collaboration and effective stakeholder management.
