Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Service Accountant to support monthly management accounts and provide sound financial advice to clinical and non-clinical operational managers at Ward/Department and Directorate level.

The role involves collaborating with financial and operational colleagues to deliver excellent patient services within the Finance department and may require training, project work and adherence to financial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational managers with information and analysis each month.
• Review actual income and expenditure within the Trust ledger system.
• Prepare and input journals and accruals to produce accurate management accounts.
• Hold meetings with budget holders and managers independently.
• Support the Directorate Teams to ensure timely reporting and recovery of income.
• Prepare budget virements and journals to maintain the integrity of financial and staffing budgets.
• Deputise for the Service Accountant & Finance Business Partner, wherever appropriate
