Affinity Learning Partnership is seeking an Assistant SENCO to join the Additional Support Faculty and support students with SEN/D to access school life and make progress. The role focuses on transition between key stages and coordinating annual reviews for EHCPs.
You will work with the SENCO, families, staff and external agencies, developing individual programmes and supporting staff across the faculty. 37 hours weekly, with 39.2 hours available, and a commitment to wellbeing.
The Candidate:
We are looking for an Assistant SENCO to join our Additional Support Faculty and play an important role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
The role will involve working closely with the SENCO, students, families, staff and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need to make progress and successfully access academy life. You will have a particular focus on transition, including supporting students moving from primary into Key Stage 3, as well as transition between Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
You will also coordinate annual reviews for students with EHCPs, support the development and review of individual programmes and passports, monitor intervention progress and contribute to the assessment process for Examination Access Arrangements. The role also includes providing advice and support to staff, working with external agencies and helping to develop the skills of colleagues within the Additional Support Faculty.
This is a varied role for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
