Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role in Romford, focusing on social housing refurbishment projects. The role supports the commercial team with cost management, valuations, and reporting across voids, kitchen/bathroom replacements, and internal refurbishments.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years’ experience in QS or Assistant QS roles, strong numeracy, and a proactive, organised approach.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role.
• Experience working on interior social housing refurbishment projects, particularly voids and kitchen/bathroom replacement programmes.
• Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates is advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, organised and quick to respond to changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of planned maintenance and refurbishment projects across social housing contracts.
• Assist with cost management, valuations, subcontractor accounts, variations and commercial reporting.
• Gain exposure to a variety of projects.
