Job summary

Vital Energi is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team on a major £110m project near Gatwick. You will support the financial management of contracts and assist in procurement, sub-contractor accounts and variations, working closely with Contracts/Project Managers.

The role requires site presence around 3 days per week in West Sussex, with growth opportunities as the company expands across the UK.

Qualifications

• Good commercial awareness.
• BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• MRICS or similar professional membership.
• Experience with Mechanical/Electrical services, Construction or Civils.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Vet contract documentation on receipt from client to ensure compatibility with tender and negotiations.
• Prepare and issue enquiries for major plant & equipment and sub-contract packages; vet quotations and negotiate price and terms with vendors; issue purchase orders and sub-contract orders.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment and/or invoices; obtain payment certificates and progress client payments.
• Measure, submit and agree variations, loss & expense or compensation events per contract provisions to facilitate final accounts.
• Monitor on-site record keeping; prepare and issue notices per contractual provisions.
• Prepare/submit monthly cost value reconciliations and spend profiles; attend contract review meetings.
• Measure, certify and agree sub-contractor interim valuations and final accounts; issue contractual notices to sub-contractors.
• Assist Finance in securing payment of invoices/applications for payment.
• Assist Commercial Manager and Senior QS in producing monthly CVRs.
