Job summary

Building Careers UK is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor in the North West. You will support commercial management on office fit-out and refurbishment projects, from pre-contract through final account, liaising with PMs, site teams and suppliers.

The role emphasizes cost control, procurement support, and maintaining robust commercial records, with opportunities for professional development and long-term career progression

Qualifications

• Degree qualification or working towards QS/Commercial Management.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial management of fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-contract to final account.
• Support subcontractor enquiries, procurement, and contract documentation.
• Assist with valuations, applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and assist with CVRs and cost reporting.
• Support budget management and cost forecasting.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider commercial team.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
