Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for our Bedford team. The role is office-based with regular site visits, offering hybrid working after a training period.

You will support commercial duties, project management, and estimating across flooring projects with sites ranging from small to large. A driving licence is preferred and the team values reliability and strong communication.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Bedford

Up to £35,000 + Car or Car Allowance

A leading flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a versatile role covering commercial management, project support and estimating. You will be joining a strong, experienced team of five in a business known for quality, reliability and excellent client relationships. Hybrid working is available after a training period.

The Role – Assistant Quantity Surveyor

You will gain exposure to a wide range of flooring disciplines including vinyl, lino, timber, sports flooring, ceramics, acoustic systems, hygienic wall cladding, raised access flooring and screeds.

The Right Person – Assistant Quantity Surveyor

• Ideally 1 year+ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Flooring or subcontractor background
• Must be able to drive
• Versatile and able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to manage 6–8 live sites
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Comfortable working on security‑cleared projects (training provided)

Working Hours

8.30am – 5.00pm

Hybrid working available after a training period.
