Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Design & Build contractor. You’ll work with the commercial team on multiple projects from inception to final account, gaining exposure to pre-construction and live delivery.

You’ll assist with cost planning, procurement, measurements, valuations, and cost reporting. A degree/qualification in QS and 1–3 years’ experience are preferred, with driving licence and strong communication essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a Construction-related discipline
• 1-3 years' Quantity Surveying experience (placement years considered)
• Experience with a main contractor, fit-out contractor or design & build business
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Full UK Driving Licence

• Assisting with cost planning and budgeting
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Preparing enquiries and analysing quotations
• Measuring works and valuations
• Processing subcontractor payments
