Job summary

O'Neill & Brennan is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support a live MOD refurbishment project in the Portsmouth area, with responsibilities split between the Surrey office, the Hampshire site, and remote work.

The ideal candidate will hold a UK Quantity Surveying qualification or be working toward it, with a few years in main contracting and refurbishment. Familiarity with JCT, NEC or bespoke contract forms is beneficial; right to work in the UK and commute to Portsmouth is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist on the MOD refurbishment project in the Portsmouth area, coordinating across Surrey, Hampshire and remote work.
• Support main contracting activities and cost reporting for the live project.
• Cover different contract forms (JCT, Bespoke, NEC) as needed.
• Liaise with site teams to manage quantities, forecasts and variances.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Ministry of Defence Project

This leading main contractor has an immediate need for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work within an established MOD Government projects division.

The initial project you will be involved with is a refurbishment at a live MOD facility in the Portsmouth area. The project is valued at £18m and will be spread over 2yrs.

The general projects consist of a range from new and refurbished accommodation blocks, roof replacements and structural changes, office refurbs and other small construction project around military bases.

You will as Assistant Quantity Surveyor, worked within main contracting for at least 2yrs.

This role offers good working flexibility of which you will manage your week between the office in Surrey, this initial project in Hampshire and working remotely.

The ideal candidate for this leading main contractor would be familiar with MOD government projects however, not essential. A basic knowledge of JCT, Bespoke and NEC contracts would be beneficial as you will be covering the different forms. A few good years working within main contracting and specifically refurbishment and small new builds is required.

You may have a UK Quantity Surveying qualification or be working towards being qualified and must live within a reasonable commute to Portsmouth. This company will not offer sponsorship, and you must have a right to work in the UK.
