Job summary

Lumensol Ltd is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our consulting team. This role supports senior consultants and project teams in delivering high-quality services across Housing, Customer, and Asset departments.

You will contribute to data analysis, reporting, and project support activities, helping ensure services are safe, reliable, and efficient while maintaining Lumensol's commercial processes and contract standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree/HNC in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying.
  • 1+ years experience as Assistant Quantity Surveyor in housing sector.
  • Experience with Reactive/Planned/Cyclical Maintenance contracts and cost models.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior consultants with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support cost monitoring and budgeting across projects.
  • Help review applications for payment and contractual notices.
  • Prepare monthly cost, progress, and performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Lumensol policies and health & safety standards.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Description

To support our continued growth, we are looking to employ a Junior Consultant to join our consulting team.

This role will assist senior consultants and project teams in delivering high-quality services to client organisations across Housing, Customer, and Asset departments. The Junior Consultant will contribute to data analysis, reporting, and project support activities, helping ensure services are safe, reliable, and efficient

  • 1+ years of experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar role in the housing sector
  • Relevant Qualifications – Degree/HNC in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying
  • Experience with Reactive/Planned/Cyclical Maintenance contracts/ cost models
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel with a good understanding of complex formulas and pivot table usage.
  • Schedule of Rates (SoR) experience
  • Use or some working knowledge of TAC/TPC, NEC & JCT Contracts
  • Assist in reviewing and assessing the works submitted through the application for payment process, helping to ensure the commercial mechanism is appropriately applied
  • Assist in the drafting of the required notices in accordance with the contract conditions
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports on the cost, progress, and performance where required
  • Support in the resolution of disputes, queries, or claims that may arise between the clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Support in the monitoring and control of costs and budgets of projects, helping to ensure that they are completed within the agreed time and quality standards
  • Assist in the review, design, implementation and adherence to robust
  • commercial processes, templates, timetables, and commercial control mechanisms to ensure commercial assurances
  • Assist in the negotiation and agreement of contracts, prices, and variations with
  • clients, contractors, and/or subcontractors
  • Assist in the preparation and review of tender documents, bills of quantities, and commercial
  • mechanisms for various work streams and projects
  • Assist the commercial team and function to ensure all
  • deadlines are met and adhered to.
