Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Interior Fit-Out £25,000 - £28,000 + Package

Location: Rochdale

Company: Our client is a respected and growing specialist contractor based in Rochdale, with nearly 20 years of experience. They deliver high-quality dry-lining, partitioning, SFS, and suspended ceiling solutions across sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, retail, and residential. Role: Our client seeks an enthusiastic, career-driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team. This role offers hands-on experience in project delivery, from procurement to final account, in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in preparing tender and contract documents
2. Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
3. Measure works on-site and manage interim valuations
4. Assist in cost planning, forecasting, and commercial reporting
5. Monitor project progress and identify variations
6. Help prepare and agree final accounts
7. Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
8. Ensure compliance with contract terms and company procedures
9. Attend project meetings and report to Senior QS/Commercial Manager

Candidate Requirements

• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards)
• 1-2 years industry experience in a commercial or surveying role
• Familiarity with dry-lining, ceilings, or interiors (desirable but not essential)
• Strong numeracy and IT skills, including MS Excel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Full UK driving license
