Job summary

Willmott Dixon Interiors is seeking an Assistant Project Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a 26m MoJ Courts project in Reading. You’ll help ensure projects are delivered on budget and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain.

Onsite four days a week with potential to progress to QS/Senior QS as experience grows; CSCS and driving licence required; you will read drawings and work to NEC/PP2000 contracts and cost-control practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with PPC 2000 and NEC forms of contract is preferred.
• Experience in procurement and re-measurement is essential.
• Strong financial and cost control awareness is required.
• Solid understanding of contract law is desirable.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately.
• Hold a valid CSCS card and a driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in valuing, certifying, and issuing payment notices per subcontract conditions.
• Ensure external valuations are accurate and payments received on time.
• Prepare and update Cost Value Comparison (CVC) reports for on-site position and projected final profit.
• Build strong relationships with supply chain, consultants and clients to foster collaboration.
• Support senior commercial staff to achieve budgeted financial targets.
• Collaborate with project teams on cost control, procurement and contract administration.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Join Willmott Dixon Interiors as an Assistant Project Surveyor (Assistant Quantity Surveyor), initially supporting the commercial delivery of a exciting 26m MoJ Courts project in Reading.

As the successful candidate, you'll provide commercial and financial support to senior surveyors, ensuring projects are procured and delivered on budget, to the highest quality, and with exceptional customer satisfaction.

You'll work closely with colleagues, consultants, and the supply chain to maintain accurate financial positions, manage contracts, and help deliver commercially successful projects that strengthen our relationships and reputation across the Reading and surrounding region.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your surveying career within one of the UK's most forward-thinking contractors, with genuine scope to develop into a QS & Senior QS role as your experience grows.

The Project

NB. Initial project allocation will be based at Reading Court - Ministry of Justice, so you will need to reside within a max of 45mins commute from this location, as the role will require you to be onsite min of 4 days per week!

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Assist in valuing, certifying, and issuing payment notices for subcontract works in line with subcontract conditions.

• Work closely with project teams to ensure effective cost control, procurement, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Skills:

• Ideally experience across both PPC 2000 and NEC forms of contracts.
• Experience in procurement and re-measurement.
• Strong financial and cost control awareness.
• A good understanding of contract law.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret drawings and specifications.
• Valid CSCS card and Drivers Licence.

Desirable Skills:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline.
