Job summary

Bimplus in Portsmouth is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a £7m healthcare project on site. You will support the commercial team with procurement, subcontractor management, valuations and cost control to help deliver the scheme on time and to budget.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in a construction commercial role or as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, with strong Excel and MS Office skills, good numeracy and a proactive approach to development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or within a commercial construction role.
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline desirable.
• Understanding of construction drawings, procurement and subcontract management.
• Knowledge of JCT contracts desirable.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Good numerical, organisational and communication skills.
• Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of the project, including procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, variations and cost control.
• Prepare and assist with commercial reporting to ensure project targets are met.

Duration: Approx. 2 years
Salary: Up to £42,000 + package

Pace Recruitment are working with an established contractor who are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a £7m healthcare project in Portsmouth.

Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Director, you will support the commercial management of the project, including procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, variations, cost control and commercial reporting.
