Job Description

Elvet Recruitment has been appointed to recruit a Trainee or Assistant level Quantity Surveyor for a leading house builder in the North East. Our client is a highly regarded developer operating throughout the region.

This role will involve assisting in managing the commercial aspects of each development, working with an established Commercial team. Responsibilities include managing costs for each site and ensuring targets are met by controlling budgets and valuations.

Main duties will include:

1. Producing tender packs, chasing returns, and compiling analysis of returns.
2. Producing sub-contract payments and final accounts, ensuring subcontractors have signed these off.
3. Producing sub-contract orders, ensuring they are authorized by the correct representative, with all necessary documentation to comply with group policy.
4. Completing on-site measurements and assessing payments to contractors.
5. Attending and contributing to various meetings, such as pre-order meetings and project review meetings with the construction team and external contractors.
6. Pricing customer extras and liaising with the sales department as necessary.
7. Assisting the Commercial Manager with take-offs for land appraisals when required.

To be considered, applicants must have:

• Relevant industry requirements, RICS qualification, or a Surveying Degree or HND.
• Ideally, experience working for a house builder with knowledge of NHBC standards.
