Responsibilities

This is a brilliant opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a fast‑growing main contractor based in St Albans. You will support the commercial team across multiple live construction projects, gaining hands‑on experience in cost management, subcontract procurement, and valuations. Working closely with a Senior QS, you will be given real responsibility from day one.

• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
• Support valuations, variations, and cost reporting.
• Help manage budgets and improve project profitability.
• Liaise with site teams and project stakeholders.
• Support contract administration and commercial processes.
• Visit sites across the South East as required.

Requirements

• Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee QS within construction.
• Exposure to refurbishment, maintenance, or main contracting projects (preferred).
