Job summary

Bellway Homes in Milton Keynes is looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Division's Commercial team. You will work with project surveyors supporting the commercial delivery of each development.

The role reports to the Commercial Director, travel to development sites within the divisional area is required, and a basic DBS and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a residential house builder is desirable.
• HNC/HND in Building Studies required.
• GCSE English and Maths (C/4+) or equivalent.
• COINS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing tender packs and analysis of returns.
• Assist in sub-contract payments and final accounts with sign-off.
• Prepare sub-contract orders with required approvals to comply with Group Commercial Policy.
• Complete on-site measurements and assess payments to contractors.
• Attend project meetings with the construction team and external contractors.
• Price customer extras and liaise with the sales department.
• Assist Commercial Manager with land appraisals take-offs when required.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK s largest house builders. Our Northern Home Counties Division, located in Milton Keynes is looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Division s Commercial department.

The Role

This role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor is responsible for working with project surveyors and help with the managing of the commercial aspects of each development.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will report to the Commercial Director.

Principal accountabilities of the role include:

• Assisting in producing tender packs, chasing returns and compiling analysis of returns.
• Assisting in producing sub-contract payments and final accounts, ensuring that the sub-contractor has signed these off.
• Assisting in producing sub-contract orders, ensuring they are authorised by the authorised representative, together with all necessary documentation to comply with Group Commercial Policy.
• Complete on-site measurements and assess payments to contractors.
• Attend and contribute to various meetings, such as pre-order meetings, project review meetings with construction team as well as external contractors.
• Price customer extras and liaise with sales department as necessary.
• Assist the Commercial Manager with take-off s for land appraisals when required.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience of working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a residential house builder - desirable

Qualifications and Training

• HNC/HND in relevant Building Studies
• GCSE Grade C/4+ or equivalent in English and Maths
• COINS - desirable

The Role and Working Conditions

Willing to be flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours worked

Office based role, with travel within the Divisional area

Ability to travel to development sites as and when required
