Job description

Whether your background is in pharmaceutical manufacturing or any other medical quality management or auditing field, few organisations offer the impact of NHS Blood and Transplant. You will work with teams across the country to implement best practices, ensuring our blood, tissue, and organ donations safely save lives.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will support the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) in maintaining and developing the site’s Quality Assurance functions. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Engaging with colleagues at various levels regarding all elements of the Quality system, including adverse events, audit non-conformities, change control & validation, concessionary issues, recalls, and batch release in Liverpool.
  2. Developing relationships with external organisations, including regulators, and ensuring external requirements are incorporated into the Quality system safely.
  3. Supporting departments to maintain compliance with standards regulated by MHRA, HTA, and CQC.
  4. Producing reports and leading quality review meetings with department managers, and facilitating investigations into adverse events to identify root causes and prevent re-occurrence.
  5. Participating in Operational Improvement initiatives using LEAN principles to identify and implement service improvements.

Qualifications
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent relevant experience and knowledge.
  • Basic management qualification or relevant experience in managing others.
  • Commitment to ongoing Professional Development (CPD).
Experience
  • Extensive experience in a regulated environment such as Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • Experience in quality audits and use of Quality Management Systems.
  • Understanding of UK legislation and guidelines such as GMP, Blood Transfusion guidelines, ISO15189, GDPR, and FOI.
  • Proficiency with IT systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
