Job Opportunity: Assistant Purchasing Manager

Location: London

Our client is a luxury boutique hotel in London, part of a growing group with an expanding portfolio across the city. They are seeking talented individuals to join their team and contribute to their exciting expansion.

Position Overview: The Assistant Purchasing Manager will oversee procurement across all categories, develop supplier relationships, and ensure the business obtains the best products at optimal prices. This role is expected to evolve into a Cluster Purchasing Manager, responsible for multiple hotels.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and execute procurement strategies.
  2. Negotiate to secure the best prices.
  3. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from needs assessment to vendor performance management.
  4. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to align procurement with business goals.
  5. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, efficiency, and costs without compromising quality.
  6. Monitor market trends and supplier performance for innovation, risk mitigation, and cost savings.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in buying across various categories, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  • Experience purchasing high-quality premium goods is advantageous.
  • Proven ability in fast-paced, multi-site procurement environments.
  • Knowledge of category strategy development and strategic sourcing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills with a proactive approach.
