Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking a psychology assistant to help deliver a range of psychological services under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. You will assist in assessments, care planning, and therapeutic support across clinical settings, contributing to MDT working and teaching activities.

Good honours in Psychology and eligibility for BPS membership are essential; Welsh or English speakers are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with clients in clinical, social care or educational settings.
• Experience of therapeutic work or involvement in developmental assessments.
• Ability to communicate empathetically and convey sensitive information.
• Basic knowledge of lifespan development and psychopathology concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering psychological assessments and interventions under supervision.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary work, group delivery and communication of sensitive information.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and prioritise workload effectively.
• Support teaching, training, audit, research and service evaluation activities.
• Utilise IT systems to support clinical practice and provide activity data.
