Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working.

There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3, reflecting the incorporation of the top-up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum). This top-up will be in place until the 2025/26 pay uplift is confirmed.

Job Overview

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 24 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING

The post holder will be part of the Forensic Psychiatry Service and the Adult Clinical Psychology Service within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

The post-holder will support psychological consultancy and therapy services for complex men and women managed by the Probation Service in the community, under supervision of Registrant Psychologists. The role is office-based across various locations, full-time at 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
  • Support service administration and develop formulations and treatment plans for service users.
  • Manage referral processes, support interventions, develop formulations under supervision, and support residents at Approved Premises.
  • Assist with therapy group administration and engage in training opportunities.
  • Support reflective practice and formulation groups to enhance psychological understanding among staff.
  • Opportunity to conduct clinical work under supervision.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from English and Welsh speakers are welcome.

Essential:

  • Undergraduate Degree in psychology or conversion
  • Graduate Basis for Registration

Desirable:

  • Masters Degree or Post-graduate training
Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant or research role

Desirable:

  • Experience in Forensic Mental Health Units
  • Ability to reflect on lived experiences of distress/difficulties
