Job summary

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on afixed-term basis until 31/03/2027.

Hours

28.8 hours per week. 09:00-17:00, Monday Friday (day off to be negotiated)

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You Will Do

This role has been funded to support the continued implementation of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standard 10, (Trauma Informed Care) through the delivery of a project that addresses substance use, mental health and trauma. The post holder will support DAPS to deliver this project, which will have a focus on co-production with individuals with lived/living experience of substance use, mental health and trauma, and wider colleagues.

As this is a fixed term role the main focuses will be on developing pathways for effective and collaborative feedback loops, working towards developing systems that embed co-production and support the trauma-informed knowledge, skills and confidence of the wider MDT workforce.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post

An undergraduate honours Psychology degree or a BPS accredited conversion course in Psychology.

Experience of working in clinical NHS settings, an understanding of the strengths and challenges face by individuals with mental health and/or substance use difficulties, and excellent written communication skills.
