Wakefield Talking Therapies specialises in evidence-based psychological therapies. We are seeking an Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for a 12-month fixed term position as part of the government backed NHS 'Health and Growth Accelerators' trial. In line with the broader NHS priority of shifting from treating sickness to prevention, the accelerators will work on preventing depression and anxiety leading to people dropping out of work. This role will support delivery of the trial through assisting high-intensity therapists by engaging clients in group therapy and other initiatives to help them access high-intensity therapy and employment support.

This is a fixed-term contract - 12 months.

Role Responsibility

You will join our team in Wakefield to assist with the delivery of the service and as a key member of the team, you will be working closely with our clinical team to maintain our high standard and help us to develop.

As an Assistant PWP you'll be managing your own workload and working alongside our qualified and trainee therapists to support delivery of groups and workshops as well as supporting clients before, during and after their engagement with the service.

You will get regular supervision and will be able to access regular masterclasses to develop your skills and support your career development. You will work with your supervisor and line manager to make sure development and CPD plans are in place for your ongoing growth.

The Ideal Candidate

In return, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress in your career with us.

We have an active wellbeing working group made up staff from within various different roles in the service who work together to organise events, keep people connected and provide information and support helping to make this a really great place to work.

We also offer the opportunity to manage your wellbeing by working flexibly and, as the service is open 7 days a week there are lots of opportunities to ensure this can work for you as well as our clients.
