The postholder will work closely with external stakeholders to generate funds from the sale of items seized in police operations and redundant force equipment. You will be responsible for receiving, logging, and storing items of seized, found, or unclaimed property under the Property Act and preparing for sale in order to reduce waste and create additional income streams for Kent Police.
You will work closely with property assistant colleagues to retrieve and manage the disposal of items no longer deemed evidential in line with various policies and processes.
You will be educated to a minimum of GCSE standard in English and have a basic level of numeracy, or have at least 2 years experience working within a support service environment.
You must be organised and able to work under pressure, providing appropriate levels of escalation to the Team Leader as necessary.
Competent information technology skills, including a variety of Microsoft packages are required.
A clean, current UK driving licence is essential as you are expected to travel to property stores and locations in and out of Kent. Following appointment, you will be required to pass an in-house Police Permit Tests for diesel cars, petrol cars, vans and 4x4 as applicable.
The role will entail a vast amount of manual handling as items are collected in Kent and delivered to various locations and therefore individuals must be able to demonstrate that they are physically fit and capable. Knowledge of health and safety practices is essential, and it would be beneficial for you to have risk management experience.
Although knowledge of the policing and evidential property environment are not essential, this would certainly be advantageous.
