Job summary

BAM UK and Ireland is seeking an Assistant Project Surveyor to join our Coventry-area site team. You will work alongside the Project Manager and the commercial team to help deliver projects on time and to budget, with a focus on subcontract procurement, valuations, and final accounts.

With a demonstrable track record in the main contracting sector and a willingness to develop towards MRICS/MCIOB, you will contribute to risk management, BIM practices, and collaborative relationships with clients,

Qualifications

• Qualified at degree level and/or working towards MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent professional level.
• Comfortable as number two surveyor within a commercial team and contributing to project success.
• Proactive, collaborative and able to work with clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with BIM and computer aided measurement tools.
• Experience preparing valuations, variations and final accounts, and managing sub-contract accounts.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of subcontract packages.
• Assembling enquiry documentation.
• Obtaining and analysing Subcontractor quotations and making recommendations.
• Preparing Subcontractor order documentation.
• Making payments to Subcontractors.
• Commercial control of subcontract packages.
• Support and contribute to Project risk and opportunity planning.
• Production of Monthly and Quarterly Cost Reports including project margin projections and cashflow forecasts.
• Measurement, valuation and negotiation of Client Variations.
• Preparation and negotiation of Project Final Accounts.
• Fostering and maintaining professional relationships with Client, Consultants and Supply Chain Partners.
