Job summary

Group Metropolitan Limited is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover, working with the Project Manager and team to coordinate site activities, subcontractors and the supply chain.

The role focuses on safety, quality, programme and cost control, with increasing responsibility as competence develops. You will prepare reports, maintain records and help ensure works meet high standards for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in Assistant Project Manager or similar project delivery role within mechanical/building services.
• Knowledge of mechanical building services and infrastructure.
• Understanding of construction lifecycle from pre-construction to handover.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities.
• Good commercial awareness with budget tracking.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture and maintain safe working practices.
• Coordinate site activities with subcontractors and supply chain.
• Ensure programmes, method statements and risk assessments are up to date.
• Prepare weekly site condition and safety reports.
• Maintain site records and documentation.
• Support cost control and opportunities to add value.
• Attend and minute meetings with subcontractors.
