Job summary

Construct Enterprises Ltd is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Mechanical) to support the delivery of medium-sized mechanical projects in the City of London. You will work closely with the Project Manager, clients, subcontractors and the wider supply chain across pre-construction, construction, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical/building services project delivery.
• Experience on medium-sized projects.
• Understanding of full project lifecycle to commissioning and handover.
• Good commercial awareness including project costs, variations and budget tracking.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, relevant building services qualification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
• Coordinate site activities, subcontractors, trades and suppliers, taking ownership of defined elements of project delivery.
• Maintain HSQE procedures and prepare weekly site condition and safety reports. Ensuring programmes, method statements and risk assessments are up to date and implemented.
• Carry out site surveys to scope works for costing.
• Prepare smaller variations and minor works and support cost tracking against budget.
• Identify and elevate project risks and issues in a timely manner.

Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical

Location: City of London - project-based

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 DOE travel allowance

Hours: 7am-4pm

Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

A well-established building and construction services contractor is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join their Mechanical team. This is a great opportunity to join a company that continues to grow in the M&E space in London.

You’ll support the delivery of a variety of medium-sized mechanical projects across the City of London, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, working closely with the Project Manager, clients, subcontractors and the wider supply chain. Having experience on multiple mid-size or small works projects is essential to succeed in this role.

This is a great next step for an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer with a solid mechanical building services background who wants to keep developing in a project management environment, with genuine progression as your experience grows.

Key Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar with a strong grounding in mechanical building services, ready for the next step in their career.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience in a mechanical/building services project delivery role with practical knowledge of mechanical building services and infrastructure, ideally within critical environments, commercial fit-out or data centres.


• Experience across a range of medium-sized projects.


• A good understanding of the full project lifecycle, through to commissioning and handover.


• Good commercial awareness, including project costs, variations and budget tracking.


• The ability to read drawings, specifications and programmes.


• Strong organisational and communication skills.


• CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, relevant building services qualification (desirable but not essential).
