Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Project Manager to support its Digital Transformation and AI Programme. The role involves coordinating a portfolio of digital, data and AI projects, working with Digital and Change Managers to ensure timely delivery and benefits realisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting projects or programmes is essential.
  • Experience working on digital transformation, technology, data or AI projects would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams; experience using Microsoft 365 and producing high-quality reports and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of digital transformation and AI projects.
  • Work alongside Digital and Change Managers to coordinate project activities and change initiatives.
  • Maintain project plans, risk registers, action logs and programme documentation.
  • Organise meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and governance papers.
  • Track project milestones, benefits and savings.
  • Support communications, training and change activities to embed new ways of working.

Thisis an exciting opportunity to work on projects that will modernise services,improve customer experience, reduce bureaucracy and deliver significantbenefits for residents and staff. Working as part of the Transformation Team,you'll support a portfolio of digital, data and AI projects, working closelywith our Digital and Change Managers to coordinate activities, monitor progressand help ensure successful delivery. You'll gain hands-on experience supportingcomplex transformation projects while developing your project managementcareer.
