Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Capital Delivery team, supporting safe and sustainable infrastructure delivery. You’ll work with a Senior PM and specialists, potentially delivering larger programmes or taking responsibility for parts of projects.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills enabling coordination across time, cost, risk and quality.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management across multiple teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and delivery partners.
• Understanding of project controls, governance, risk management and assurance.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, escalation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead delivery of assigned projects or sections from brief to handover.
• Ensure safety, sustainability and adherence to time, cost and quality.
• Monitor progress and report on cost, schedule, quality, risks, opportunities and issues.
• Develop project briefs, business cases and delivery plans.
• Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and partners to keep activities moving.
• Support management of contractors and related work-orders.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Contribute to governance, assurance and change-control activities.
• Promote proactive safety culture and escalate health, safety and environmental concerns.
• Assist financial management of budgets typically ranging from £1 million to £25 million.
• Encourage collaboration and clear communication across the project team.
