Job Title: Senior Assistant Project Accountant

Location:

Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary:

Up to £45,000 depending on skills & experience.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Provide valuable and robust financial support to the project team.
2. Produce and develop reports to meet business requirements.
3. Support resolution of project financial issues.
4. Create, promote, and monitor supporting process instructions.
5. Monitor financial performance, providing independent and robust financial challenge.
6. Ensure data accuracy and consistency provided to customers.
7. Coach non-finance employees on financial reports.
8. Prepare Summary Status Reports.

Your skills and experiences:

1. Project accounting experience.
2. Awareness of MoD Accounting/Contracting requirements.
3. Knowledge of Project Lifecycle Management (LCM) Process.
4. Experience with Business Systems (SAP/BPC).
5. Understanding of Finance Governance and Financial Controls Framework.
6. Part-qualified or qualified accountant with experience in a project environment.

The FMSP Project Finance Team:

The team provides comprehensive project accounting support to the Mod Future Maritime Support Programme, focusing on short-term fleet engineering and capital activities within the FMSP contract, with regular financial updates to the Mod customer.
