Responsibilities
  • Successful candidates will join an established and successful department and contribute to its research and teaching in data science and statistics.
  • You will have a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications, proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top conferences or journals.
  • You will also have a clear, well‑developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world‑leading publications.
Qualifications
  • You should have expertise and research interests in statistics, data science, or machine learning.
  • You must have a completed PhD, or close to obtaining a PhD in statistics or related areas such as computer science or mathematics by the post start date.

  • We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to collaborate with colleagues with complementary research interests, both from within the Department and from other departments in the School.
  • The Department has research expertise across different areas, including data science, probability in finance and insurance, social statistics, and time series and statistical learning.
  • The School provides opportunities for research collaboration through the new Global Institute for Technology and Society, and other institutes.
