Job summary

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business in the United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager to drive day-to-day operations on a bespoke production floor.

You will oversee production planning, monitor quality, support staff, deliver on-time orders, and foster continuous improvement while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to plan production to meet customer orders.
• Strong attention to quality and safety.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities to ensure on-time orders and bespoke specifications.
• Supervise, coach, and support production staff to maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Conduct in-process and final quality checks and address issues promptly.
• Monitor labour, materials and workspace usage to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and skills development for team members.
• Support health and safety compliance and maintain housekeeping standards on the floor.
• Provide production supervision cover when required and participate in performance reviews.
