Job summary

CV Technical are recruiting an Assistant Production Manager for a Dundee manufacturing site. You will support the Production Manager with day‑to‑day operations, ensuring targets, quality and safety are met while leading production teams to achieve daily goals.

We are seeking candidates with a background in manufacturing, ideally from supervisory or team leader roles, who can drive performance and improvements in a growing environment.

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Previously in a supervisory or team‑leadership role preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager with daily running of the production department.
• Lead and motivate production teams to achieve daily targets.
• Monitor performance, efficiency and output against plans.
• Ensure schedules are met with required quality and safety standards.
• Assist with staff development and training as needed.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the production area.
• Provide cover for the Production Manager when required.

Assistant Production Manager

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

CV Technical are currently working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an Assistant Production Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor, Production Team Leader or Assistant Production Manager looking to take the next step in their career and develop within a growing manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Assistant Production Manager, you will support the Production Manager with the day-to-day running of the manufacturing operation, ensuring production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Production Manager with the daily running of the production department
• Leading and motivating production teams to achieve daily targets
• Monitoring production performance, efficiency and output
• Ensuring production schedules are achieved on time and to the required quality standardsManaging and resolving day-to-day production issues
• Supporting with staff management, training and development
• Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed
• Identifying opportunities to improve production processes and efficiency
• Monitoring waste, downtime and production performance
• Working closely with Engineering, Quality and other departments
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and 5S across the production area
• Providing cover for the Production Manager when required

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leadership position.
