Job summary

Barnet Council is seeking an Assistant Business Lead Procurement to join the Commercial and Procurement team in delivering high quality procurement and contract management services. You will advise senior stakeholders and drive commercial principles to maximise value while leading an integrated team.

The role supports the Business Lead Procurement and Contracts, ensuring council requirements are met and aligned with the organisation's activity.

Qualifications

• Professional membership of MCIPS or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Public Procurement Requirements.
• Strong procurement skills including cost control, contract negotiation and contract management.
• Excellent communication skills to negotiate with senior stakeholders and present complex information.
• Good knowledge of Sustainable Procurement (economic, social and environmental).

Responsibilities

• As Assistant Business Lead Procurement, you will deliver high quality commercial activities across procurement and contracts and advise senior staff.
• You will support the Business Lead Procurement and Contracts to ensure alignment with statutory, regulatory and Council requirements.
