Job summary

Harris Academy Wickford is seeking an outstanding Assistant Principal to drive strategic and operational leadership, shaping the ethos and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the academy.

You will lead teaching excellence, assessment and data-informed improvement, working with the SLT to raise achievement and sustain strong relationships with students, parents and staff. A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree are essential.
• Extensive teaching experience with outstanding practice is required.
• Proven management experience at Head of Department or SLT level is desirable.
• Experience of writing department SEF, conducting lesson observations and giving constructive feedback.
• Experience of improvement planning and strategies to raise student achievement is essential.

Responsibilities

• Create and sustain a high-quality learning environment across the academy.
• Lead the development and implementation of teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
• Oversee data-informed improvement planning and performance reporting.
• Support staff and subject leaders to develop schemes of learning and effective interventions.
• Recruit, mentor and deploy staff while maintaining high professional standards.
• Cultivate strong relationships with students, parents, staff and the Governing Body.
