Somerset Council is recruiting an Assistant Practitioner to join the Public Health Nursing Service in Somerset. You will work with Health Visitors and the Service Lead in Family Mental Health to provide early support in homes, schools, Family Hubs and community settings.

This role forms part of a supported pathway into CYP IAPT training starting January 2027. You will develop professionally in a collaborative, child-centred environment, with supervision and opportunities to gain practical

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent in health, social care, education, youth work, childcare, psychology or related field.
• Experience of working with children, young people or families and building positive relationships.

Responsabilités

• Deliver one-to-one and group interventions under supervision and delegation.
• Support delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and Public Health Nursing pathways.
• Manage and prioritise an allocated workload, maintaining accurate electronic records.
• Recognise safeguarding concerns and respond promptly through escalation and referral routes.
• Complete development requirements to progress to the CYP IAPT university programme (January 2027).
