County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join the Cardiac Arrest Prevention (CAP) Team. You will deliver training across the organisation and support the prevention of cardiac arrest through education and audit.

The role requires ability to travel between hospital sites, with a focus on developing and delivering resuscitation training, assisting with service delivery and contributing to strategic projects under supervision.

Formación

  • Foundation degree in health and social care (or willing to work towards).
  • Willing to undertake an ILS.
  • Willing to undertake an ILS instructor course.

Responsabilidades

  • Deliver effective cardiac arrest prevention training programs across the organisation.
  • Assist the Lead Nurse with duties that will enable the effective running of the cardiac arrest prevention service.
  • Contribute to the development of projects and strategy by leading on an identified aspect of cardiac arrest prevention or resuscitation practice.
  • Identify and proactively manage cardiac arrest prevention related risk
  • Provide resuscitation and deteriorating patient training
  • Support the sisters/charge nurses in the delivery of the service
  • Assist with the delivery of projects, under the direction of a sister/charge nurse, as required
  • Assist with audit, under the direction of a sister/charge nurse, as required
  • Provide advice in relation to basic resuscitation or deteriorating patient enquires from clinical staff and refer complex enquiries to a sister/charge nurse

An exciting opportunity hasarisen for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join the Cardiac ArrestPrevention (CAP) Team. The cardiac arrest prevention team provides acomprehensive service for the organisation including a significant trainingprogram for all clinical staff from basic through to advanced courses.

The teams main focus is toeliminate avoidable cardiac arrest through extensive audit programmes, rapidcase reviews of any unexpected death or potential failure to rescue, teachingand providing professional support to clinical areas and individuals.

In addition to this the teamprovides professional advice in relation to cardiac arrest prevention and resuscitation,coordinates the procurement of equipment and organization of the hospitalemergency teams.

Main duties of the job

The team plays a significant rolein patient safety and is involved in proactively managing risk in relation tocardiac arrest prevention & resuscitation. The post holder will beresponsible for the delivery of cardiac arrest prevention & resuscitationtraining across the organisation and will assist with the delivery of astrategy that will enable staff to deliver high quality resuscitation care.
