Job summary

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join the Cardiac Arrest Prevention (CAP) Team. The team runs a comprehensive training programme for clinical staff from basic to advanced courses and works to eliminate avoidable cardiac arrests through audits and rapid case reviews.

The post holder will deliver CAP and resuscitation training across the organisation, support the Lead Nurse, and help develop projects and strategies to improve patient

Qualifications

• Foundation degree in health and social care (or willing to work towards).
• Willing to undertake an ILS.
• Willing to undertake an ILS instructor course.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective cardiac arrest prevention training programs across the organisation.
• Assist the Lead Nurse with duties that enable the effective running of the cardiac arrest prevention service.
• Contribute to the development of projects and strategy by leading on an identified aspect of cardiac arrest prevention or resuscitation practice.
• Identify and proactively manage cardiac arrest prevention related risk.
• Provide resuscitation and deteriorating patient training.
• Support the sisters/charge nurses in the delivery of the service.
• Assist with the delivery of projects, under the direction of a sister/charge nurse, as required.
• Assist with audit, under the direction of a sister/charge nurse, as required.
• Provide advice in relation to basic resuscitation or deteriorating patient enquiries from clinical staff and refer complex enquiries to a sister/charge nurse
