Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking an Assistant Mooring Master to deputize the Mooring Master during berthing and offload operations onboard FPSO/FSO assets. You will support the readiness of the offload hose system and tandem hawser, and assist in training personnel for tandem offloading activities.

The role requires offshore experience, STCW qualifications, and strong safety awareness. You will collaborate with cargo and engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operation.

Qualifications

• STCW Reg. AII/2 plus DCE for Oil and/or Gas as applicable.
• Tandem offload simulator training attendance certificate.
• Minimum 3 years seas service on tankers Aframax – VLCC size with at least 1 year in rank of Chief Officer.
• Extensive knowledge of offshore FPSO or FSO operations, including Production, Process, Utilities, Marine Maintenance, and Safety Management.
• Previous tandem berthing experience
• Proficiency in English at a minimum of B1 level according to CEFR.

Responsibilities

• Deputize the Mooring Master as needed and supervise berthing, mooring and offload operations.
• Support the maintenance and operation readiness of offload hoses and tandem hawser systems.
• Coordinate with vessel masters, cargo surveyors and offshore teams to ensure timely and safe offload operations.
• Promote Safety Management System compliance across marine activities and record incidents for investigation.
• Manage planning and reporting for surveys and audits in line with regulatory requirements.
