Job Details

• Position: Assistant Merchandiser - Home - 12 month FTC
• Location: Head Office, Enderby, Leicestershire
• Salary: £33,000 to £45,000
• Working Pattern: Typically 3 days in office, flexible hours between 8am-6pm

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Home team and broaden your knowledge within the Rugs department! We focus heavily on quality, serving thousands of items an hour and building a loyal customer base. This role offers a great chance to learn, grow, and thrive in the Homeware and Textiles industry.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and sales data to develop range structures and identify opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to communicate range proposals effectively.
• Evaluate past performance, identify strengths and weaknesses, and propose strategic improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring open communication and trust.
• Forecast demand, plan capacity and production schedules, and coordinate fabric reservations.
• Maintain accuracy in merchandise systems, update data, and conduct regular audits.
• Guide trainees, delegate tasks, and monitor progress to develop team skills.
• Review budgets, monitor spending, and negotiate with suppliers for cost efficiencies.
• Track in-season sales performance, inventory levels, and markdowns, making adjustments as needed.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and inventory management systems.
• Open-minded, adaptable, and innovative mindset.
• Passionate about product trends and consumer insights.
