The Role
The Assistant Merchandiser is responsible for purchasing retail gift product to agreed budgets and weeks cover for all Royal Museums Greenwich shops, ensuring stock is optimised for business demands, especially for peak trading at all sites to maximise income. They will provide information and weekly reporting to support in sales analysis and product performance, as well as supporting in managing the retail EPOS system including day-to-day maintenance, product information, new users and reporting.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of merchandising, working with a broad range of product categories, and strong commercial awareness. They will have the ability to confidently negotiate, build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, work on their own initiative as well as within a team, and strong analytical and numerical skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and experience of using an EPOS system of product ordering and stock management is also essential for this role.
This is a full-time, fixed term contract for 12 months in Band 6 - Management and Competent Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, working Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management.
Salary: £29,400 per annum
