Zachary Daniels is recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser in the Greater Manchester area. The role focuses on stock planning, trading accuracy, and commercial range development across stores and online channels.

You will support the Merchandising team with detailed forecasting, stock allocation, and supplier collaboration in a fast-paced retail environment. Hybrid working is available, with strong emphasis on data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Previous experience at MAA or AM level within a fashion environment.
• Highly analytical with excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience of Power BI and Power Query would be an advantage.
• Able to prioritise workload and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse category and product performance to maximise profitability.
• Create and maintain area store plans, including store grading, allocations, and seasonal stock movement.
• Monitor weekly stock levels, taking proactive action to drive sales and reduce overstock risk.
• Manage the replenishment system, ensuring MDQs are accurately set up and updated throughout the season.
• Review sales data, sell-through, and range performance to inform adjustments to plans and blanket orders.
• Prepare detailed trade and forecasting reports to support strategic stock planning.
• Distribute weekly and monthly sales updates, maintaining a comprehensive data library to inform decision‑making.
• Work closely with logistics and merchandising teams to resolve supply chain issues and protect stock availability.
• Build strong relationships with field operations to ensure effective execution of stock plans across stores.
• Deputise for the Merchandiser where required and contribute to wider team projects.

As the Assistant Merchandiser:

You will sit at the heart of stock and planning operations, ensuring the right product is in the right place, at the right time, and at the right price.
