Virginia OCME in Tidewater District, Norfolk, seeks an experienced forensic pathologist to join a staff of three, with clinical and administrative responsibilities including death investigations, autopsies, and education.

The role involves supervising staff, teaching fellows and students, and providing expert testimony, with potential university appointments. Some overnight travel may be required; Board certification in forensic pathology is expected.

Competenze

Graduate of approved medical school with postgraduate training in anatomic and forensic pathology.
Certification as a specialist in forensic pathology by the American Board of Pathology; licensure to practice medicine in Virginia.
Completion of approved training program in forensic pathology; at least one year of forensic experience.

Mansioni

Conduct death investigations and postmortem examinations.
Perform medicolegal autopsies and provide expert consultations.
Present court testimony and supervise staff; provide administrative oversight.
Contribute to educational activities for fellows, medical students and public safety officers; participate in committees.
