Job summary

S I Sealy & Associates Ltd is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical building services design from concept to technical design. You will work with senior engineers on a range of healthcare, commercial, and education projects across the UK.

The role offers structured training, mentoring, and opportunities to progress toward professional registration as you develop your design consultancy skills. A UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services Engineering (or similar).
• 1–3 years of experience in a building services consultancy environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with HVAC, domestic water services, ventilation, heating and cooling system designs.
• Produce design calculations and technical reports.
• Prepare drawings and specifications.
• Support energy and sustainability assessments.

About Us

S I Sealy & Associates is an established building services engineering consultancy delivering mechanical, electrical and public health design solutions across healthcare, commercial, education and public sector projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an ambitious Assistant Mechanical Engineer to join our team and develop their career alongside experienced engineers and project leaders.

The Role

You will support the delivery of mechanical building services designs from concept through to technical design, working alongside senior engineers on a wide range of projects. This opportunity may also suit a mechanical contractor who is looking to move into a design office environment and develop their design consultancy skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with HVAC, domestic water services, ventilation, heating and cooling system designs.
• Produce design calculations and technical reports.
• Prepare drawings and specifications.
• Support energy and sustainability assessments.
• Attend client and design team meetings.
• Assist with site surveys and inspections.
• Develop Revit and BIM capabilities.

What We Are Looking For

• HNC, Degree or HND in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline. (Preferable)
• Approximately 1 to 3 years of experience within a building services consultancy environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Revit is beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
