Job summary

Redfish Solutions Ltd is seeking an Assistant Technical Services Manager to support the Technical Services Director across MEP activities for commercial fit-out projects. You’ll help coordinate design information, coordinate with multiple packages, and drive buildability and compliance on live schemes.

Qualifications

• Background in building services within commercial fit out or refurbishment.
• Experience supporting or managing MEP packages on live projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication with a client-friendly approach.
• Understanding of compliance, regulations, and industry standards.
• SMSTS, CSCS beneficial.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Services Director in overseeing all MEP activities across multiple fit out projects.
• Assist with reviewing, interrogating, and validating design information for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance.
• Help coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and specialist packages.
• Provide technical input during pre-construction, including value engineering and buildability advice.
• Work closely with MEP subcontractors to support quality control, sequencing, and programme alignment.
• Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and adherence to specifications.
• Assist the Technical Services Director in managing technical queries from clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Ensure works comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover processes, including documentation and sign-off.
• Contribute to improving internal technical processes, standards, and procedures.
• Adopt a proactive, solutions-focused approach to technical challenges on live projects.

The business is hiring an Assistant Technical Services Manager (ATSM) to work directly with and support the Technical Services Director across all building services (MEP) activities. You’ll help manage technical coordination, compliance, and quality across multiple commercial fit out projects, typically up to £5m. This role is ideal for someone with a solid building services background who wants to develop into a senior technical role, gaining exposure to strategic decision‑making, design interrogation, subcontractor management, and technical leadership.
