Job summary

Ocorian is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join the Investor Services team in Jersey. You will oversee CDD/AML matters, provide guidance on investor onboarding and higher-risk cases, and collaborate with Compliance and FATCA/CRS specialists to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in CDD/KYC, AML/CFT, or a related compliance-focused role.
  • Experience in funds, financial services, investment management, or corporate services is advantageous.
  • Professional AML/compliance qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Review and perform CDD assessments for standard, simplified, and high-risk investors.
  • Conduct investor and client database checks to identify relationships and ensure records are up to date.
  • Review ownership structures and identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).
  • Identify deficiencies in CDD documentation and resolve with stakeholders.
  • Support investor screening activities and ensure checks are completed.
  • Maintain and oversee the Investor CDD Tracker and ensure accuracy.

Purpose of the Job

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable professional to join our Investor Services team as an Assistant Manager.

This is a key oversight and control role responsible for supporting the delivery and governance of the Client Due Diligence framework within Ocorian's Jersey-regulated funds business. Reporting to the Head of Investor Services, Jersey, you will act as a subject matter expert in AML/CFT and investor due diligence, providing guidance on investor onboarding, periodic reviews, and higher-risk investor relationships.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Jersey regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of risk management, and supporting colleagues across the Funds business with complex CDD matters.

Main Responsibilities
  • Review and perform CDD assessments for a variety of investor types, including simplified, standard, and high-risk investors and structures.
  • Conduct investor and client database checks to identify existing relationships and ensure accurate record management.
  • Review and prepare detailed ownership and structure charts, identifying controllers and Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).
  • Identify any deficiencies in CDD documentation and work with Fund Administrators and stakeholders to obtain the required information.
  • Support investor screening activities and ensure all required checks and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Maintain and oversee the Investor CDD Tracker, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Provide technical support, coaching, and guidance to team members on CDD and AML/CFT matters.
  • Act as a point of escalation for more complex or higher-risk investor cases.
  • Deputise for the CDD Manager when required.
  • Liaise with Compliance, FATCA/CRS specialists, and wider business stakeholders to obtain guidance, approvals, and sign-off where necessary.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local and international regulatory requirements, ensuring simplified, standard, and enhanced due diligence measures are applied appropriately.
  • Monitor and assess risk exposure, ensuring internal controls, review processes, and operational procedures are followed consistently.
  • Escalate significant risks, issues, or concerns to senior management and Directors where appropriate.
  • Support wider CDD, Investor Services, and Funds team initiatives as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, controls, and service delivery across the function.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in CDD/KYC, AML/CFT, or a related compliance-focused role.
  • Experience within a funds, financial services, investment management, trust, or corporate services environment would be advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications or relevant certifications in AML, Compliance, Governance, or Financial Services are desirable but not essential.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
  • Strong experience conducting and overseeing client due diligence and investor onboarding activities.
  • Good understanding of AML/CFT legislation, regulatory obligations, and risk-based approaches to due diligence.
  • Knowledge of Jersey AML/CFT legislation and the JFSC AML/CFT Handbook would be highly beneficial, although not essential.
  • Experience reviewing complex ownership structures and identifying Ultimate Beneficial Owners.
  • Understanding of enhanced due diligence requirements and the management of higher-risk investor relationships.
  • Knowledge of cross-border CDD requirements and international regulatory considerations.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess risk and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence working across multiple systems and databases.
